This article is taken from Brazilian newspaper, Correio Paulistano, 15 January 1930. It is a circular sent to all FIFA members from Jules Rimet setting out the organizational details agreed upon at the FIFA congress in Barcelona 1929.
These two pages are taken from the Orbis World Cup '90 Collection. I was around 11 years old when I bought this massive folder binder and it was the first time I read about the first World Cup. Limited in its scope it quenched my desire to learn more about the World Cup in Uruguay 1930.
This is part 3 of Joefa's Road to the First World Cup and is 43 minutes long. The first nine minutes contains film footage of the Barcelona Exposition in 1929 where FIFA held its 18th Congress to decide on the host for the first World Cup before going into further detail on how Uruguay was awarded the World Cup. It also contains information on the countries who accepted the invitation as well as their travelling schedule. Go check out his youtube channel and subscribe.
